Man, time flies. I can't believe it has been over a month since my last entry.
I have been through a lot in the past month with Christmas and all. I probably work more than I should also but I enjoy it and earn overtime which helps at home. I have thought about my blog and the fact that I have been neglecting it quite often. I haven't done anything about it though until now. I was just thinking, who cares what I write? I am doing this for myself anyway. My first post was pretty deep and was something I believe in. But, not every entry needs to be meaningful. I have started journals before but don't stick to them. I need/want to keep up with this one more often. I am a deep thinker but, rather than waiting for something philosophical I can just blab about my day's events. So I will.
I have debated about how personal to get with this. I don't expect anybody is reading my ramblings but it is public. So, for now I will just keep it simple. I actually enjoy writing once I get started.
I will say that I am enjoying both of my daughters immensely! I am also ready for spring.

Here it goes
Well, I am starting my first blog. Nothing special but it is something I have wanted to do. I research everything exhaustively before undertaking or purchasing. That is why I have chosen Blogger.com rather than My Space or some other. This is a great site with lots of options and readers.
Admittedly, I am a little nervous about sharing with the world but scary is fun. I am also old enough, wise enough, and self assured enough now to ignore the weak minded.
I am a proud "Okie" having been born and raised in Oklahoma. I consider myself intelligent enough to hold my own in most crowds and take offense to the stereotyping of people in "fly-over country" as ignorant or inbred. I have received a decent education from public schools, technical schools, and the local community college. In fact, I think the Ivy League is overrated and conceited. Perhaps they have promoted some stereotypes in order to raise the tuition and their own self-perceived stature. Don't get me wrong, I am not bitter and have not been rejected by any higher learning institution (they will all take my money). I graduated high school with honors as a member of the National Honors Society and continued my 3.8 or so throughout my "higher learning". I just like to defend those of us in Middle-America as having the same potential as anyone on either coast. Notice I used the word "potential", too many squander theirs. I don't consider myself qualified to apply for Mensa (don't know my IQ anyway), I have just continued to seek improvement throughout my life. The more I learn, the more I understand what I do not know. I love the question and story of Isaac Asimov "What Is Intelligence Anyway?". Though I don't agree with some of his beliefs, I think he had some great thoughts.
Anyway, I am already enjoying this blogging thing and look forward to my next urge to share!
